Habits of Mind 6: Metacognition



After years of focusing exclusively on academic standards, bringing the Habits of Mind to life in your classroom may require a shift on your part–moving away from just paying attention to content learning to focusing also on developing self-directed, thoughtful problem solvers. Being able to think about your own thinking is critical for supporting the executive function so necessary for planning, processing, and completing learning performances.
