Daniela Fenu Foerch holds a doctoral degree from Barry University in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Early Childhood Education. She is a permanent faculty member of the Department of Teaching and Learning at Florida International University, Miami, Florida, where she teaches courses to prepare and mentor teacher candidates to work with diverse young children and their families. Prior to joining the FIU family, Daniela worked as a classroom teacher primarily in Title I public and charter schools. During her last years of teaching, her passion for teaching and learning was recognized with several teaching awards for her outstanding teaching practice. Daniela belongs to two learning communities in Miami: the Habits of Mind Faculty Learning Community at FIU and the Visible Thinking South Florida. As part of my commitment with these learning communities, she mentors teachers in the public and private schools in Miami Dade County disseminating the PZ ideas. She has been actively involved with the Visible Thinking initiative for Early Childhood Education and the Habits of Mind in Miami since 2008. Daniela has participated and facilitated several Visible Thinking conferences and workshops in the U.S. She attended Project Zero Classroom as a fellow in the summer 2013. She has recently became a Habits of Mind certified trainer. Daniela currently conducts research with teachers in preschools classrooms to nurture global competence in young children.
