As you become more immersed with Habits of Mind,
you may want to pursue the advanced series of badges to become a certified Institute consultant.
You will be paired with a seasoned Institute consultant who will serve as a coach and thinking partner to co-create goals,
develop a personalized plan, and monitor and reflect as you progress through the three badges.
As a result you will be developing increasingly complex and sophisticated qualities of leadership
and help to inspire others in their engagement with Habits of Mind.
Badge 4: Deeper and Expanded Knowledge Badge
Demonstrate a deeper commitment with Habits of Mind by submitting artifacts that include tips, strategies, and practices that demonstrate the value and benefits of this integration. In this way, you will become a published author on the IHOM site to share your thinking with a global audience.
Badge 5: Cognitive Apprenticeship
Demonstrate capacity to draft goals and outline action steps for Habits of Mind school communities. This process includes analysis and evaluation of case studies and/or observing a practicing consultant with a school client. In this way, you will begin to develop a toolkit of resources and strategies that will help assist with the drafting of goals and actions for a paid school client.
Badge 6: Practicing Apprenticeship
Design and facilitate quality experiences for clients or colleagues who are interested in pursuing and deepening their work with Habits of Mind. You will choose an area of focus from an array of possible services such as a parent workshop, curriculum design work or faculty problem solving; interact with a coach as needed in the development and implementation; submit a series of artifacts that demonstrate impact of the learning experience. In this way, you will launch a track record of successfully integrating Habits of Mind into your consulting or leadership work.
